Studying agriculture exposes scholars to a diverse range of career opportunities. A recent USDA report indicates that 22.1 million full- and part-time jobs were related to agricultural and food sectors. As we prepare for the launch of the North Little Rock 6 Academy of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences in the fall, we will take a look at some potential careers in agriculture.
Career #1: Agricultural Engineer
Agricultural engineering focuses on designing and improving farm machinery, equipment, and technology to enhance farm efficiency and sustainability. Engineers in this field work to address issues such as pollution control, resource management, sustainable production, and the environmental impact of agriculture, while also improving post-harvest handling of agricultural products.
