As you know, the North Little Rock School District closed schools and district offices early on Wednesday, April 2 because of inclement weather.  To avoid extending the school year, the district will add five minutes to the end of the school day beginning Monday, April 14. Please note the updated school hours. At this time, the last day of school is scheduled for Friday, May 30. However, please keep in mind that inclement weather is unpredictable. If additional schedule changes become necessary, the school year may extend beyond this date. Thank you for your understanding!

Studying agriculture exposes scholars to a diverse range of career opportunities. A recent USDA report indicates that 22.1 million full- and part-time jobs were related to agricultural and food sectors. It’s National FFA Week, and as we prepare for the launch of the North Little Rock 6 Academy of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences in the fall, we will take a look at some potential careers in agriculture. Career #7: Soil Scientist A soil scientist studies land and water resources to better understand soil that will be used for agriculture, forestry, and urban development. A soil scientist is the go-to person for all things related to preserving soil for growing communities, potential water shortages, food supply and demand, and erosion.
