The superintendent announced today that NLRMS 6 will be open for on campus instruction beginning tomorrow. Families have a choice to send their students to campus for instruction or to keep them at home for asynchronous virtual learning. Teachers will be available by email for virtual learning but not via Zoom. Assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. If your student will be returning to campus, please make sure he/she brings the Chromebook they checked out last week with them.

NLRMS 6 will continue virtual learning tomorrow, Jan. 11. We will follow the A day schedule with students meeting their 1st period teachers at 8:10 via zoom. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teachers. They will be happy to help.

In light of the announcements that we will be pivoting to virtual learning, students who are in attendance at NLRMS 6 today will receive a Chromebook to take home for use in remote learning. Students who are not in attendance on campus today may pick up a Chromebook tomorrow at NLRMS 6 from 9 am to 1 pm in a drive through format.

The North Little Rock School District continues to monitor the impact of COVID-19 in our schools. This is a reminder from our earlier communication that the Seventh & Eighth Grade Campus will continue remote instruction for Thursday, January 6, 2022, and Friday, January 7, 2022. We thank those individuals who have signed up to be mentors in our district. If you haven't signed up yet, we still need YOU! Check out these Mentor Orientation Sessions that have been planned. Also, please make plans to attend our "Calling All Dads and Male Role Models" session on Sunday, which will feature the founders of "Dads on Duty" from Shreveport, La. They first appeared on CBS Evening News. Come and hear how they have made a positive impact in schools. See you there!

NLRMS 6 will begin hosting after school tutoring sessions every Tuesday and Thursday for 6th grade students beginning on January 11th from 3:30-5:15 pm. COVID shot clinic for 11 year olds will be this Friday, Dec. 3rd at NLRMS 6. This is for 11 year old, NLRMS 6 students only. If interested, please check your child's backpack for the forms from Nurse Buckley. Forms must be returned by 8:00 am on Friday for a student to receive the vaccine.

Nov. 19th brought the end of NLRMS 6’s annual canned food drive. Our students brought in nearly 6000 cans that were donated to the Amboy Food Pantry to benefit the NLR community. Because of their hard work and giving spirit, students were able to enter drawings to pie their teachers and principals in the face. Check out the fun they had!
