If your student has medication at school, please pick it up before or on the last day of school (May 30). The school shall not keep outdated medications or any medications past the end of the school year. If your student will be attending summer school, please speak with your school's building nurse to make arrangements.
ALL medications not picked up by dismissal on the last day of school will be destroyed or discarded, per district procedures.
This month's recipient of the Great Rising Adult-Youth Mentor Award is Reynardo Marks of the NLR Chamber of Commerce. While he went to the 7th & 8th Grade Campus for his job to speak with students, he has developed an interest in mentoring the students at the school.

Good afternoon. The athletic office, along with Nurse Tonya Green, is excited to announce that the NLRSD will once again provide student-athletes with free sports physicals on-site.
Who qualifies to receive a Sports physical?
Current NLRSD student-athletes enrolled in the NLRSD.
Who doesn't qualify for a Sports physical?
-Transfer students who are not already enrolled and attending the NLRMS 7/8 Campus.
-Current 6th-grade students
New student transfer students and current 6th-grade students must obtain a physical from their primary care doctor.
May 28th-NLRMS (current 7th & 8th graders only)

2024 8th-Grade Promotion Ceremony for NLRMS 8th Grade Students

Ceremony 1 (9:00am-10:00am)-
Ceremony 2 (11:00am-12:00pm)
*For Ceremony 1, parents can begin arriving at 8:30 am.
*For Ceremony 2, parents can begin arriving at 10:30 am.
* Students will be told by their 1st-period teachers which ceremony they will be attending on May 29th.
Location:
We will be doing the ceremony in the NLRHS auditorium. Because seating is limited in the auditorium, we will have 2 ceremonies to make space for students and their immediate family members.
Balloons, flowers, and banners will have to be kept in your vehicle and will not be allowed inside the auditorium.
Transportation
All on-site students who are participating in the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony must ride the bus to and from the promotion ceremony.
Dress Code
Student graduation attire must follow our school district dress code. Students will not be permitted to cross the stage if they are not in the NLRSD dress code. Clothing that would not be permitted includes spaghetti straps, crop tops, short dresses/skirts, tops that reveal cleavage, hats, sunglasses, and bandanas.

Cat Fest is May 24th. This is the biggest celebration of the year! To be eligible to attend, students must meet the following expectations:
No suspensions
No more than 1 discipline infraction leading to ISS
No more than 3 tardies
No more than 3 absences for the remainder of the year. If you miss 1 class period, this counts as 1 absence.
Incoming 9th graders-April 23rd
NLRMS 7/8 will host girls' basketball tryouts for rising 9th graders on Tuesday, April 23rd.
Incoming 9th Grade boys basketball tryouts will be on April 25 from 3:30 pm-5:30 pm in the middle school Upper Gym
Athletes must have a current physical to try out
On May 3rd, NLRMS 7/8 Campus will have a Spring Dance. In order to purchase tickets and attend the dance, students must complete all 3 days of ATLAS testing during the assigned days of testing. Testing will be April 30-May 2nd.
👟 NLRMS PTA is proud to present the NLRMS 7th/8th Sneaker Ball Dance on Friday, May 3rd from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm in the NLRMS Cafeteria. Come dressed to impress, be sure to wear your favorite sneakers, and show up ready to enjoy some fun! Tickets are $5 and cover initial food, drink, and admission. Additional food and drink will be available for sale along with candy, snacks, and some fun accessories. Nothing will be over $2.
School administration will review the attendee list to ensure students who purchase tickets have met the criteria to be eligible to attend. Please visit our online store at nlrmspta.memberhub.com/store or purchase your dance tickets in person in the cafeteria before school or during lunch the week of April 29th.

Good morning, tomorrow all NLRMS 7/8 students will take the ATLAS Writing Assessment first thing in the morning. It is very important that all students arrive at school on time and ready for the day.
When students are dismissed to come inside the building they will report directly to their testing room which will be different from their 1st-period classroom. This afternoon, students will have the opportunity to go to their assigned assessment rooms so they will know where to go in the morning for testing. There will be room assignments posted on the walls as well in case your student forgets their assigned testing room.
