Good morning, parents, guardians, and students. This announcement is a reminder that students of the North Little Rock School District can not sell store-bought or homemade items to students while they are on any of our NLRSD campuses. The parent/student handbook and the Arkansas law that prohibits these types of sales are linked below. https://issuu.com/northlittlerockschooldistrict/docs/2024-2025_parent-student_handbook In Arkansas, selling food to students within a school district without the proper permits or licenses can be illegal, particularly if the food is potentially hazardous or requires temperature control. The Arkansas Department of Health (.gov) requires permits for establishments that sell food to the public, including those within schools. This message is for rising 7th and 8th grade students who want to learn more about the NLRMS dance team for the 2025-2026 school year. We have made necessary adjustments to meet our students' clinic and tryout needs due to the inclement weather and its consequences. Tuesday, April 15: Rescheduled mandatory parent meeting, for parents who missed the first meeting, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. in the 7/8th media center. Tuesday, May 6-Thursday, May 8: Dance Clinic in middle school upper gym from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 9: Tryouts in middle school upper gym 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. All questions regarding NLRMS Dance will go to Mr. Noble. nobled@nlrsd.org

As you know, the North Little Rock School District closed schools and district offices early on Wednesday, April 2 because of inclement weather.  To avoid extending the school year, the district will add five minutes to the end of the school day beginning Monday, April 14. Please note the updated school hours. At this time, the last day of school is scheduled for Friday, May 30. However, please keep in mind that inclement weather is unpredictable. If additional schedule changes become necessary, the school year may extend beyond this date. Thank you for your understanding!

While we have experienced inclement weather over the past several days, there has been little to no impact on our schools and Central Office sites. Therefore, all campuses and district sites will be open tomorrow at normal times. We understand that travel conditions may still be challenging for some, and we encourage everyone to prioritize safety in their commutes. The application for rising 9th grade students who are interested in COE are due on April 10th. The applications are online.

For this assignment, students were asked to create a tattoo design based on information given by Miss Patrom. Their requirements were straight-forward, follow the list of suggested ideas, no color (black/white/gray,) and small-ish designs (no full sleeves.) If you have found your way to this form, then you must have been told to vote for someone's tattoo design, right? If yes, then below are designs that you can vote from. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

The NLRMS 8th Grade Advanced Band participated in the Region Concert Assessment last week and performed so well! These students received an Excellent rating in Concert and a Superior rating in Sight-Reading. We are incredibly proud of all the hard work our band students have done this year! If you see a NLRMS Advanced Band student please congratulate them on this monumental achievement!
