The threat of severe weather has been extended to 4:00 p.m. in our community making school operations potentially unsafe. Due to the extended forecast and out of an abundance of caution for all our employees, all Central Office and school sites will be closed today. There will be no on-site instruction, after-school activities, or athletic practices and events, as all Central Office and school sites will be closed. No transportation or food services will be provided.
Remote learning for students is in effect as previously communicated.
Good Morning! Today is a delayed start AMI day. Students will begin working virtually at 10:40am. Here is the schedule for the day: https://bit.ly/3zvQDPV. Because many families do not have electricity at this time, students will
have until Tuesday, April 11, 2023, to complete assignments given today.
Due to the prediction of severe weather occurring at our delayed start times, the NLRSD will operate on an Alternate Method of Instruction (AMI) model for Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

We are monitoring the weather, as forecasters predict another round of severe weather. Out of an abundance of caution, the district will delay school start times and office start times by 2 hours and 30 minutes on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
Pre-K/Elementary School: 10:20 a.m.
Middle School: 10:40 a.m.
High School: 11:10 a.m.
All Central Office Sites: 10:30 a.m.

Rising 8th-graders who are trying out for cheer for the 2023-2024 school year this message is for you!
Cheer tryouts have been postponed until further notice. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
There will be no school for students on Monday, April 3, but staff will report to their buildings. Schools will reopen for classes on Tuesday, April 4.

Please choose to complete a COE or a NLRHS course selection sheet with your family and bring it back to school with you on Thursday, March 30. Please note that students who choose to complete a COE course selection form MUST also complete a COE application.
Unfortunately, the originally scheduled high school tours and orientation will not happen this spring, but COE and NLRHS counselors will provide information and meet with students at NLRMS on Thursday, March 30. Questions about the COE should be sent to Ms. Cox, COE counselor, at coxm@nlrsd.org. Questions about NLRHS should be sent to Mr. House, NLRHS freshman counselor, at housej@nlrsd.org.

The UAMS Pathways Academy program is an innovative, comprehensive, educational, and community engagement program focused on preparing low-income K-12 students for educational and career opportunities in STEM-H disciplines. If students are not low-income, we still welcome them to apply. Our program is free of charge and we welcome all students to apply.
We are currently recruiting for our Junior & Senior STEM Academies (K-8th grades) in Little Rock and North Little Rock. Our STEM academies will take place this year and we are currently planning for the upcoming summer intensive camps.
