College and high school football kicks into full gear this week! Let’s show our spirit for our favorite teams by wearing their shirt or jersey this Friday, September 3.
Next Monday is Labor Day. There will be no school
Thank you for a great first 2 weeks of school! Students have been excited and eager to learn. Let’s work on speeding up drop-off and pick up. In the mornings K-2 children enter the front door. Please use the West car loop. If you must stop and help your child out of car, pull out of the lane onto the area by the ball goals and cross at the cross walk. 3-5 children enter the art room door. Please use the East loop (closer to church). It is important to keep lanes moving to ensure everyone gets to class on time. Have a great weekend!
Parents, Thank you for getting your child to school between 7:20 and 7:50 each morning. Remember to wait until you see a school staff member outside before dropping your child off. This will keep him/her safe and supervised. Right turns into and out of the loops keep traffic moving smoothly. Thank you for your help!
Kindergarten Parents, Please check your child’s backpack this evening. Your child has been assigned to a teacher for the rest of the year. Students can bring their supplies tomorrow. The kindergarten teachers enjoyed getting to know the students these past 2 days!

Parents, If you pick your child up by car in the afternoon, we need your help, please. While you are waiting on Fairway to pull into a loop, stay in the turn lane and far right of the road. We must keep both lanes of Fairway open to those who are traveling. This is not only courteous but a safety issue. We appreciate your patience. The process will go faster every day as children learn how to quickly exit the building!

Thank you all for a SUPER first day at LWE! We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation throughout the drop-off and dismissal. The students were so friendly and excited to be at school. We will see everyone in the morning when the doors open at 7:20. Our young scholars need to be in class no later than 7:50.
Thank you for your patience this morning on the first day of school! It was such an exciting morning. Students are in classes and are learning about their teachers and new classmates. Thank you for getting them here on time with masks and supplies! We are going to have a great year at LWE. We will begin dismissal at 2:35 today. Buses and daycares will leave first. Next, the walkers will leave. Car riders will be called last. Car riders will be called by name from inside. Remain in your car if you are in the car line. A staff member with a radio will come to you to call your child outside. We ask that all parents not block the front doors so that children can leave safely. Your patience is so appreciated!
We are so excited to see everyone tomorrow!!! Unfortunately, we are unable to have visitors in our school; however, we will have all of our staff members actively helping your child to class starting at 7:20 when the doors open. Staff will come to car to get your child and their supplies. Masks are a NLRSD requirement for all. Water bottles will be used this year. Please have one for your child! We have many water filling stations for refills. Please send a note communicating how your daughter/son will get home. Thank you in advance for your patience as we get the first day started. Each day will get easier. Our goal is to have every child in his/her seat by 7:50 each morning! 📗📚✂️✏️❤️

The NLR Middle School tennis team will have tryouts on Monday, August 23 at 4:30 at Burns Park Tennis Center. Fifth grade students can join this team!

LWE’s virtual open house will be aired on our Facebook page this evening at 5:00. It will be recorded so you can watch it at any time. Class lists will be posted at 3:45 tomorrow on the front of the building. Please stop by and see who your child’s teacher is after that time! A PTA QR code with more information will be posted by lists. Parents will not be able to come in with children on the first day of school. At this time, visitors are not permitted in the building. All of our staff will be helping children get to their rooms with their supplies. We are excited to see everyone Monday!

The NLRSD has extended the registration period for enrollment into the Virtual Academy. The deadline to register is August 3.

Families that are interested in signing up their students to participate in the NLRSD Virtual Learning Program must register by July 26, 2021.

ALL students are asked to update their information via online registration prior to August 13, 2021. Returning students have received an email from the Arkansas State Department of Education (noreplyregistration@powerschool.com), or a mailed letter with instructions on how to update their information. New students will need to complete a new student registration form by visiting our website at www.nlrsd.org under student registration.
