Dealing with Library Debt

Students need to log into their library accounts at destiny.nlrsd.org to view their information.Students log in with their ID number. If the program does not let them in, they probably have an expired network password and need to reset it in the library.

If a student thinks there is an error (for instance, if he/she thinks that a book was returned but the program still shows that the book is out or there is a fine for the book) the student needs to email the librarian at the school in question to try to get the issue resolved. The librarian can look on the shelf for the book with that bar code number and remove the error/fine if the book is found.

Sometimes students leave textbooks with their teachers (although we tell them not to!). In that case, the student may need to email the teacher and have the teacher check in the classroom. Teacher email addresses are usually last name, first initial @nlrsd.org

Also, please remind all students and parents that textbooks MUST BE RETURNED by the student at the end of the school year. (Libraries are not open during the summer.)

Teachers typically schedule a day to bring the classes to the textbook room. We scan the bar code on the textbook to verify that the student is returning the correct book. This will alert the student if he/she has gotten a textbook mixed up with a friend's book or a classroom textbook (which would be checked out under the teacher's name.)

If students pay for a lost book, the money will be refunded if the book is found and returned before the end of the school year Once that money has been allocated and used to purchase a replacement book, it is no longer available for a refund.
