The NLRSD is monitoring the potential for severe weather in central Arkansas. Our local meteorologists expect severe thunderstorms at the time our elementary schools dismiss. In the event of severe weather, we will hold students and staff at schools until conditions improve to ensure a safe dismissal. We believe that our schools are the safest place during a storm.
All after-school activities and athletic events will be canceled this afternoon.
If a parent wishes to pick up their child, it must be done before a tornado warning is in place. Once students and staff are in shelter, we cannot release them for safety reasons until the warning expires.
We thank you for your patience and understanding if there are delays in dismissal. We will remain in contact with you throughout the day.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
Get ready for the first-ever NLRSD "Literacy Leads to Champions" parade, set for April 24, beginning at 2:00 p.m. This parade will highlight our district's commitment to literacy through our schools, students, and student-athletes.
Be on the lookout for more communication!
Happy Thursday!
Please see the Superintendent's Message, which addresses the district's policy as it relates to restricting visitors for this school year only.
The message can be viewed at the following link: https://5il.co/18g86
Thank you for your understanding!
Parents/Guardians, be on the look out! Your child(ren) should be bringing home a bright orange paper today with their classes for next year. Please review the sheet, sign and return to your child's 8th period teacher. This is an important step in scheduling your child's classes for next year.
Parents, as spring approaches we are seeing more dress code violations on our campus. Please help us prevent these issues by reviewing the dress code with your student(s) and ensuring they are appropriately dressed when leaving the house. The NLRSD dress code can be found at: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1454594/Dress_Code_2021-22.pdf
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for the state. We are closely monitoring current weather conditions and will take every precaution necessary to ensure the safety and security of students and staff. We will provided additional communication as needed.

They may choose to complete work virtually or on paper. Students should fill out the attendance form found in their teams’ Google Classrooms. *If a student can not complete the attendance form, they will be counted present for the day once they have turned in the completed AMI paper packet.* If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of your student’s teachers.
