Mr. Wesley Bilon, a veteran educator in the North Little Rock School District, has now assumed the role of Director of Student-Athlete Development and Academic Engagement. This role, formerly known as “Athletic Director,” has been reorganized to place a greater focus on developing the whole student-athlete, which include academic excellence, athletic excellence, personal development, leadership, and community service, so that they can reach their full potential to be future ready academically and athletically. In addition, Mr. Bilon will serve as the district’s liaison to the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) and will supervise all coaches.
Previously, Mr. Bilon served as the Assistant Principal at North Little Rock High School. As the Assistant Principal, he provided support to the previous Athletic Director with scheduling, transportation, game-day requirements, and supervision. Mr. Bilon is a decorated coach, having been a part of six basketball championship seasons as an Assistant Coach for the Varsity Boys’ Basketball Team. He led the Freshman Boys’ Basketball Team for ten years, and each year, the team ended the season as conference champions. Mr. Bilon has also coached football, baseball, and track.
Mr. Bilon, who has been a part of the NLRSD since 2008, taught physical education and social studies.
“I am humbled to continue my career in the North Little Rock School District. I am proud to be part of the district and a part of this community,” said Mr. Bilon. “I look forward to serving our student-athletes by ensuring they are well prepared beyond high school.”
Mr. Bilon has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, a Master of Science Degree, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration from the University of Central Arkansas.
He is the proud husband of his wife, Megan, and father of two daughters, who are students in the North Little Rock School District. Avery is a junior, and Allison is a seventh grader.
