The NLRHS/Center of Excellence Transition Fair has been canceled.

UPDATE: Due to the predicted forecast of icy conditions, all schools in the NLRSD will be closed on Monday, January 22, 2024.

NLRHS and the Center of Excellence will host a Showcase and Transition Fair on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity for current and potential families to come and learn about all of the exciting programs available to students who attend the schools. In addition, families will get a chance to learn about the Special Services Department and how they assist students with 504 plans and IEPs.

• The Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball Teams will have a matchup at home on Friday against Jonesboro. Due to the possibility of inclement weather on Friday, the Varsity Girls will play at 5:00 p.m. (instead of 6:00 p.m.) and Varsity Boys will play immediately afterward. There will be no JV game.
• The rescheduled matchup between Lady Cats and Southwest Lady Gryphons will be January 18 at 6:00 p.m. at Southwest High.

The Center of Excellence earned the "Beating the Odds" award! This award, presented by the University of Arkansas Office of Education Policy, goes to schools that serve a population where 66% of students face economic challenges and where the students are demonstrating the highest levels of academic growth.
The COE ranks number three of high-poverty high schools in the Central region based on Math ACT Aspire Growth.
Dr. Hooper, the Deputy Superintendent, accepted this award on behalf of the COE.


Tonight, we recognized Baptist Health for being a named partner through NLRHS' Health and Human Services Academy and the COE's Health and Human Services Academy. They have committed resources, time, and staff to this partnership so that the students of the NLRSD will be future ready and prepared for careers in the healthcare industry.


Congratulations to these students on earning the Seal of Biliteracy distinction! The Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy recognizes Arkansas high school students who have demonstrated proficiency in English and one or more other languages by their high school graduation. This honor serves as evidence of skills that are attractive to future employers and college admissions offices.
