A message from Superintendent Bobby Acklin on the Coronavirus:

Hello parents, students, and stakeholders,

Today, we learned about the presumed case of the coronavirus in our area.

I met with administrators Wednesday afternoon to share some information with them.  With the help of our Nursing Supervisor and our Custodian Supervisor, we provided administrators information with the cleaning processes that our custodians use every day.

Our cleaning products have coronavirus listed on them as viruses that the products kill.  We have enough cleaning supplies and hand soap in stock.  We’re spending extra time wiping down and disinfecting hard surfaces.

We are in constant contact with the Arkansas Department of Health, and after listening to Governor Hutchinson, I have suspended all business travel for the next 60 days.

We are urging everyone to practice

basic, day-to-day procedures as it relates to maintaining good health.  Wash your hands as often as possible, using soap and warm water.  If soap and water are not available, then use hand sanitizer.

The Arkansas Department of Health has established a call center staffed by health care professionals.  If have any questions or have exposure questions, call (800) 803-7847 between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  If you have questions, after 4:30 p.m., call (501) 661-2136.  As you know this is still developing, so we’re learning more and more each day.

We’ll keep you posted on the very latest – when we get information to share with you. Visit our website or follow our social media channels -- Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Thank you for being a part of the North Little Rock School District.  The health and well-being of our students and staff is top priority.

Sincerely,

Bobby Acklin
Superintendent
