Dear Student, Parent, and/or Guardian of NLR Academy;
After careful consideration, North Little Rock High School has determined that classification of students based on the number of years they have been in high school is a practice that should not continue. The practice has caused confusion on the part of both the student and their family leading to misunderstandings regarding the graduation status of credit deficient students.
You are receiving this letter because you are either a student who is credit deficient based on current grade level or the parent/guardian on one.
Beginning in November 2019, students whose cumulative credit total is insufficient for the grade in which they are classified, will be re-classified to the appropriate grade level. For example, if a student is currently listed as a junior but has a cumulative credit total of less than 11, that student will be re-classified as a sophomore.
To be considered on-time for graduation, students must have earned the following number of credits by the end of the school year to move to the next grade classification:
Sophomore – 5.5 cumulative credits
Junior – 11 cumulative credits
Senior – 16.5 cumulative credits
After this initial correction in November 2019, grade classification will only change once a full school year has been completed.

Come and join us at the School Safety Symposium, scheduled for 11/12 at the NLRHS Performing Arts Center. You will hear from district leaders about our commitment to keep students and staff safe.
There will be a moderated Question & Answer session. We ask that you email your questions beforehand to safeschools@nlrsd.org.
See you there!

Good Evening Parents of North Little Rock Academy,
This is a friendly reminder school will not be in session tomorrow due to Parent Teacher Conferences. We will resume classes on Friday, September 20, 2019.

In light of the violent threat made against schools in Arkansas, the North Little Rock School District is taking extra steps to ensure that each campus remains a safe and healthy environment for everyone. We maintain communication with law enforcement, who will have a presence at every campus on Thursday, August 29. The safety of our students and staff is top priority in the North Little Rock School District.

Please be mindful of adjusted start and end times for elementary and high schools, beginning next Tuesday (9/3).
Elementary: 7:50 a.m.-2:40 p.m.
High: 8:25 a.m.-3:40 p.m.
Middle school times will remain the same: 8:00 a.m.-3:15 p.m.

After assessing transportation issues during the first week of school, the district has adjusted school start and end times. The new times will take effect on 9/3.
Elementary: 7:50 a.m.-2:40 p.m.
Middle: 8:00 a.m.-3:15 p.m.
