This afternoon, there was a call made to North Little Rock Middle School 7/8 Grade Campus of a bomb threat. The entire school, including the 6th Grade Campus, immediately initiated its crisis response plan and evacuated the building within moments. All students and staff are safe. We will relay more information as it becomes available.

Lakewood Elementary's Kindergarten Classes held their annual Fairy Tale Ball. The ball is a celebration of their study of fairy tales. The students dressed as their favorite fairy tale character, danced, played games, and ate food fit for royalty. What a fun time!
FOX16’s Kevin Kelly visited Glenview Elementary to speak to second through fifth graders about bullying. Students were even able to apologize to peers they had bullied in the past. At the end, students took the “Step Up, Stop Bullying” pledge. Thank you, Kevin!
The district is aware of flooding in a number of areas. We ask that you use extreme caution as safety is top priority. Our transportation department is making sure students get to school safely, although there will be some delays. Tardies will be excused today as a result of the flooding. Thank you for understanding.
Kindergarten teachers across the district met some of their incoming Kindergartners and their families during Pre-K dismissal yesterday. They gave each Pre-K four-year old a goody bag O"fish"ally inviting them to Round-Up today!

Congratulations to NLRHS Charging Wildcats DJ Smith and Tracy Steele who played in this weekend’s Real Deal in the Rock Tournament. The two, who play for the Arkansas Hawks, helped their team win the 16 and under championship. Both played key roles in getting their team to the championship game by scoring game-winning three-pointers over the Woodz Elite. Way to go, DJ and Tracy!
Lakewood Elementary's Kindergarten students performed "Bugz" the Musical for the student body and families at the "Blooming Artist" Fine Arts Night. This is just one part of the great fine arts week that took place at the school. What a fun time they had!
Congrats to Crestwood on winning the district’s elementary Math Wars! Competition was fierce with 5 teams in the 2nd tiebreaker for the day. After the final question, Crestwood’s Team One won and took home the traveling trophy. Congratulations to the following team members: Chloe Dial, Addison Hilliard, Team Captain J. D. It’s Day 2 of training for the district’s 4th grade teachers. They are learning evidence-based strategies to implement the second tier of Wilson Reading System — Just Words — ahead of the 2019-20 school year.

Crestwood staff canvassed the community Friday afternoon around the school. Staff members chatted with neighbors and handed out flyers about Crestwood events and programs.
