October is Dyslexia Awareness Month! Join us in recognizing the unique challenges and strengths of individuals with dyslexia. Let’s learn together to foster understanding, support, and empowerment for our children. Dyslexia is defined as a learning disability that is neurological in origin, characterized by difficulties with accurate and fluent word recognition, poor spelling and decoding abilities that typically result from phonological components of language. These characteristics are often unexpected in relation to other cognitive abilities. Here is this week’s Dyslexia Awareness fact vs myth.

Twenty-three years ago, our nation stood still. Nearly 3,000 people died as a result of the terrorist attack. Today, we remember the lives lost and the courageous first responders who ran to provide aid.

There is an amazing addition to the FARM, which is located at the North Little Rock Middle School campus! School leaders, along with Baldwin & Shell, Pinnacle Structures, and various subcontractors, cut the ribbon to officially open the new storage building. The structure will be used to store animal feed and gardening tools. It will also serve as shelter for animals during inclement weather. This project is a culmination of a community effort. After thieves broke into a building adjacent to the FARM and stole equipment valued at $5,000, many parents and community members stepped in to help.
