
Reading should be fun for everyone, especially our students with characteristics of dyslexia.
Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration. Storyline Online is a site that streams videos featuring famous actors as readers.

It's Dyslexia Awareness Month!
Last school year, 752 students received dyslexia intervention services.
Our interventionists undergo high-level training to assist students with characteristics of dyslexia.

Patricia Stiles, Angela Zakrzewski, and Dawnley Bryant were nominated by Dr. LeAnn Stoll to receive the Superintendent's Honor Roll. They were instrumental in making all of the special education records digital and creating processes to make the department more efficient.

SGM (R) Donald Hunter has been named outstanding U.S. Army JROTC Instructor. He has been in the NLRSD since Aug. 2020. He was nominated by his colleague, LTC (R) David H. Shelby.
