Make48 is being held this weekend at the Innovation Hub in North Little Rock! The NLRSD is well represented by The Fast and the Curious, a team of 4th and 5th grade students from Boone Park Elementary and their STEAM facilitator, Xiomara Vasquez.
Each year, dyslexia advocates choose a day to wear red to bring awareness to dyslexia. The color red is often used in education to highlight mistakes. Dyslexia advocates have taken back the shame that so many dyslexic learners feel.

Cenergistic recognized the COE, Glenview, Sixth Grade Campus, and NLRHS for consuming the least amount of energy over a four year period! The NLRSD began the partnership with Cenergistic in 2018.
As a result, the district has avoided more than $2.2 million in energy costs!

Reading should be fun for everyone, especially our students with characteristics of dyslexia.
Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration. Storyline Online is a site that streams videos featuring famous actors as readers.

Last school year, 752 students received dyslexia intervention services.
Our interventionists undergo high-level training to assist students with characteristics of dyslexia.

Patricia Stiles, Angela Zakrzewski, and Dawnley Bryant were nominated by Dr. LeAnn Stoll to receive the Superintendent's Honor Roll. They were instrumental in making all of the special education records digital and creating processes to make the department more efficient.
SGM (R) Donald Hunter has been named outstanding U.S. Army JROTC Instructor. He has been in the NLRSD since Aug. 2020. He was nominated by his colleague, LTC (R) David H. Shelby.
