This month's "Great Rising" recipient is "Busted Knuckles." They are men who have formed a Corvette Club and recently visited Seventh Street Elementary to show off their cars and to begin mentoring our students. They are committed to mentoring other students across the district.
Christy Anderson, the Teacher Appreciation Week Committee Chair for the NLRHS/COE PTA, is the May recipient of the Parent North S.T.A.R award! Anderson organized meal distribution for teachers and staff last week. Parents who have worked with her salute her work ethic.
Congratulations to Ms. Dianne Phillips, a teacher at the Sixth Grade Campus, on earning the National Board Certified Teacher designation! The NBCT designation indicates that the educator understands rigorous teaching standards and uses evidence-based strategies in the classroom.
The NLRSD had 17 students to earn the Seal of Biliteracy. This is a certification that encourages students to become fluent in more than one language. At graduation, they'll receive a special cord and will have a distinct seal on their diploma.
Congratulations to the Quest students from Crestwood Elementary! These students placed at the Arkansas Innovation Hub's Innovation Challenge competition. This is a problem-solving competition where students think about every day problems and develop solutions.
Special thanks to Benjamin Hampton Duck and Tyler Green, students at the Center of Excellence, for leading us in a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance at tonight's Regular Board Meeting.
Congratulations to Glenview Elementary School on earning a grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries! Money will be used to purchase books for the school library.

It's National Nurse Week! Our caring nurses put their heart into making sure our students and staff are healthy and are concerned about their well being.
National Nurse Weeks ends on 5/12, which is Florence Nightingale's birthday. She is known as the founder of modern nursing.
It's Teacher Appreciation Week! We are so thankful for our compassionate teachers in the NLRSD. We are appreciative for all that they do to prepare our students to be productive members of society.
Feel free to reach out to your student's teachers to tell them thanks!
