Usher pulled off a memorable performance at last night's Super Bowl, but he had help from one of our own! Edmund Bryant, a 2023 graduate of the Center of Excellence, performed with his college band, Jackson State University, also known as the "Sonic Boom of the South!" Edmund's career with us began at Lakewood Elementary School. We are so proud of Edmund!

Weekly Updates
The North Little Rock Board of Education approved the revised school calendar for the remainder of the school year. In order to make up days out of school due to snow and ice, there will be no more Early Release Wednesdays for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. By doing so, this will allow the school year to end on Thursday, May 30, 2024. The revised calendar can be viewed at this link: https://5il.co/1pcvy Last week, we sent a survey to our families to seek their input regarding making up the snow days. Nearly 83% of our families who took the survey supported the district's decision to temporarily suspend Early Release Wednesday. Please keep in mind that if we experience more inclement weather, then we COULD have to extend the school year.

Top 5/Board Brief
Ten of our dyslexia interventionists from the elementary schools were recognized for going above and beyond for students. We have been down an interventionist at the middle school. In order to ensure every student at the campus receives services, the elementary dyslexia interventionists have rotated one day every other week to middle school to work with students there. They have never lost a beat with serving the students at their assigned school. We appreciate these interventionists for their efforts! They are Michelle Baggett, Madelyn Casto, Amanda Garlington, Krystal Heaser, Brandi Kemp, Deedra Lee, Tammy Roberts, Shelly Smith, Taylor Thompson, and Emily Wyant.
