Ms. Angela Hazzard will be the new Assistant Principal at Lakewood Elementary School. She comes to the school from Crestwood Elementary School, where she has served as a Multi-Classroom Teacher.
Ms. Hazzard will begin this role on July 20.
Ms. Hazzard has been at Crestwood Elementary School since August 2013. As a Multi-Classroom Leader, she has provided coaching and support to a team of math and reading teachers and paraprofessionals to improve student learning. Ms. Hazzard has also been a Lead Math Teacher, Student Council Advisor, and Yearbook Advisor while at Crestwood. In addition, she has taught Fifth Grade.
Her teaching career began in the Spartanburg County School District in South Carolina. She taught Third and Fifth grades. Ms. Hazzard also earned the honor “Teacher of the Year.”
“I am excited about starting this new journey,” said Ms. Hazzard. “I am ready to work with Principal Cortney Bost, staff, and the families of Lakewood Elementary to ensure that all students have a safe and inviting learning experience,” she said.
Ms. Hazzard earned a Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. She also received Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Converse College in South Carolina.
