The North Little Rock School District will host the 2021 "Night of Honors," an event to recognize its Building-Level Teachers of the Year and Classified Employees of the Year, on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. at the Windsong Performing Arts Center.
In total, eighteen teachers and six classified employees will be honored for their dedication and service to the students and staff in the North Little Rock School District.
Dawn Scott, the former evening news anchor at KTHV Channel 11, will serve as the mistress of ceremonies.
The 2021 NLRSD Teacher of the Year will be unveiled at this event. The individual announced as the NLRSD Teacher of the Year will represent the district as a candidate to become Arkansas Teacher of the Year. Seven teachers who have been named NLRSD Teacher of the Year have gone on to represent the state as Arkansas Teacher of the Year.
A diverse group of judges read applications and interviewed the teachers who applied to be named NLRSD Teacher of the Year.
In an effort to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines, the ceremony will have limited seating. Therefore, the public will be able to view the event on the YouTube channel, NLRSD Communications.
