Burlington Stores, a national discount retailer offering low prices every day on brand name merchandise for the entire family and home, has donated $5,000 through its partnership with the national non-profit organization, AdoptAClassroom.org, in celebration of its new store now open in North Little Rock at 4122 E. McCain Boulevard. Funds will be used towards school supplies to help ensure students at Ridge Road Elementary School have the learning materials and tools they need to succeed now and in the future.
A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org reached out to district and school administrators and helped to secure the donation for Ridge Road, which will support five classrooms with new supplies.
According to Principal Matthew How, the teachers will use the funds on a number of new classroom items that will enhance teaching and learning. The following five teachers will be provided $1,000 each to use on supplies:
Ms. Melissa Rooney, Kindergarten Teacher
Ms. Maria Stamp, First Grade Teacher
Ms. Desiree Phillips, Second Grade Teacher
Ms. Jocelyn Bumanghat, Third Grade Teacher
Ms. Michelle Mayos, Fourth Grade Teacher
“We are so thankful for this contribution from our new local Burlington store. The funds will be beneficial to our teachers and ensure that they start the new school year off strong. We appreciate the generosity through Burlington’s partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org,” said Mr. Matthew How, the Principal at Ridge Road Elementary School.
As part of Burlington’s new holistic community giving approach of adding value to local communities, and in partnership with their national nonprofit partner AdoptAClassroom.org, they hope to help empower those in their local store communities to live a better life and build a better future. Each time Burlington opens a new store, they celebrate by adopting and funding local classrooms in their new store community.
