Mrs. Tonya Jackson has joined the North Little Rock School District to serve as Assistant Principal at the North Little Rock Middle School – Sixth Grade Campus.
Mrs. Jackson comes to the North Little Rock School District from Harris Elementary School, which is located in the Pulaski County Special School District. At Harris Elementary, she served as the math and literacy instructional coach. Before that, she taught kindergarten and third grade at Chenal Elementary School.
Before joining the Pulaski County Special School District, Mrs. Jackson taught multiple grades in Conway Public Schools. Mrs. Jackson’s professional career began in the former Memphis (Tenn.) City Schools (now called Memphis-Shelby County Schools), where she taught second grade.
Mrs. Jackson earned a Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership (Principalship) from Arkansas State University and a Master of Science Degree in Education from University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Arkansas.
Mrs. Jackson is a National Board Certified Teacher, which is recognized as the gold standard in teacher certification. It is a voluntary credential that shows demonstrated evidence of student achievement, differentiated instruction, and effective planning that positively impacts student learning.
