Mrs. Katina Veasley has been appointed as Coordinator of Special Education Curriculum. Mrs. Veasley is a veteran educator in the North Little Rock School District, having served as a special education teacher at Meadow Park Elementary School since August 2015.
As the Coordinator of Special Education Curriculum, Mrs. Veasley will serve as a liaison between the principals and teachers to ensure the special education curriculum is aligned with the literacy and math curricula that are implemented in all classrooms across the district.
Before joining the North Little Rock School District, Mrs. Veasley served as an Academic Instructor at Little Rock Job Corps Center.
Mrs. Veasely is currently taking courses to earn the Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. She has earned a Master of Education Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Additionally, Mrs. Veasley is a National Board Certification Teacher, which is deemed the gold standard in teacher certification. This process includes multiple components, which consist of an exam and compiling multiple portfolios that show work samples of student growth as a result of differentiated instruction, video recordings of student interactions, and demonstrated evidence of effective planning to positively impact student learning.
