At its April 18th meeting, the North Little Rock Board of Education approved the calendar for the 2019-20 school year. Creating the school calendar is a collaboration between teachers, staff, and administrators.
\r\nThis takes you to the 2019-20 calendar.
\r\nSome important dates for next year's calendar:
\r\nFirst Day of School: Tuesday, August 13\r\n
\r\nLast Day of School: Friday, May 22\r\n
\r\nWinter Break: Monday, December 23 through Monday, January 6\r\n
\r\nSpring Break: Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27\r\n
\r\nAlso next school year, instructional time at district’s elementary schools will be extended by 20 minutes, while North Little Rock Middle School students will begin class earlier. Elementary students will have a longer day in an effort to provide more time for instruction and recess. Governor Asa Hutchinson signed Act 641 into law, which requires elementary schools to provide at least 40 minutes of recess each day.\r\n
\r\nHigh school times will not change.
\r\nThe new times also benefit bus riders, as the district revamped routes to ensure shorter ride times, which also leads to more efficiency. \r\n
